Współczesny przyrodnik chce - na wzór platońskiego Demiurga - stwarzać rzeczy. W procesach klonowania, krzyżówek genetycznych, tworzenia nowych zmutowanych form roślin nie chodzi tylko o przeformowywanie i przetwarzanie rzeczy, ale stawianie się w roli kogoś, kto dzięki nauce uzurpuje sobie moc stwarzania. Najważniejszym celem „Zeszytu V" jest wprowadzenie czytelnika w umiejętność odkrywania wewnętrznej struktury świata osób i rzeczy a przez to docieranie do takich złożeń, których nie może odkryć żadna inna nauka poza metafizyką.
